Rules
1.1 General
All people participating in Aim Cup are expected to act not just to the letter, but in the spirit of the following rules. In cases that Aim Cup deems extreme or out of bounds, punishments may be enforced that are not directly covered by the rules. The tournament administration has the right to decide outside or even against the rulebook in special cases.
1.2 Instructions from Authorities
Each Player/Team must follow the instructions from Aim Cup staff. (Even if it’s against the rulebook).
1.3 Zero Tolerance Policy
Aim Cup doesn’t support any kinds of harassment , including (but not limited to):
- Hate speech, offensive behaviour, racism, ethnicism, ableism or mocking of someone’s physical appearance, body size, age, or religion.
- Stalking or intimidation (physically or online).
- Spamming, raiding, hijacking or inciting disruption of streams or social media.
- Posting or threatening to post other people’s personal information (doxing).
1.3.1 Misbehaviour
Any form of misbehaviour happening during the Aim Cup tournament (this is not limited to the in game chat) may be punished.
1.4 Matches
You should always try to create an even playing field for all players in all the matches you play. It is not allowed for participants to bet on their own matches (this is excluding any form of pick’ems). Betting against yourself will get you disqualified and the betting player(s) banned.
1.5 Live Streaming
In general, all players are allowed to Livestream their matches (And in some special cases some players are encouraged to Livestream or record their POV).
We would be happy to see players adding "Aim Cup" in their stream title when they play & stream their matches, this is NOT a rule, just a friendly notice.
1.6 Language
The main language of Aim Cup is English. The Captain of each team should be able to communicate in English.
1.7 Deception
Attempts to deceive admins or other players with wrong or fake statements, information or data will not be tolerated.
1.8 Conversation
The content of discussions or any other correspondence between Teams/Players and the Tournament Referees/Organisers shall be deemed strictly confidential and may only be revealed to Aim Cup. The publication of such material is prohibited without prior written approval.
1.9 Responsibility
All Teams and Players agree to behave in a sportsmanlike and respectful manner towards other Teams and Players, spectators, the broadcast team and referees.
1.10 Reachability
Every Captain should be contactable over Discord DM and be able to check and answer DM’s on a daily basis.
2.1 Cheating
All forms of cheating in Aim Cup are forbidden and will be penalized by Aim Cup. Players found cheating outside of Aim Cup may be banned from Aim Cup depending on the evidence available. By breaking any rule a player risks being barred or completely excluded from the tournament.This also includes their team.
2.1.1 Cheating Sanctions
Sanctions for cheating may be: disqualification from the tournament, results voided, forfeiture of prize money, ban between 2 years or lifetime depending on age and level of player and nature/size of tournament and how the player cheated.
2.1.2 Appealing
You are allowed to appeal your ban, if you wish so please contact an Organiser or Host of this tournament to gain more information.
2.2 Match Fixing
The action or practice of dishonestly determining the outcome of a match before it is played is strictly prohibited.
2.2.1 Match Fixing Sanctions
Results voided, ban between 2 years or lifetime, forfeiture of prize money (if discovered before the end of a tournament, disqualification).
2.3 Cheating allegations
If a player is under heavy doubt of playing legitimately we are taking the right to request a Liveplay or even encourage them to record their POV or to livestream their matches. If you think a player is cheating in the Aim Cup tournament you should contact the tournament management ASAP. Accusing a player of cheating publicly is against the Zero Tolerance Policy.
3. Teams Names
We reserve the right to edit Nicknames, if they fail to comply with the following requirements.
Team Names are forbidden if they:
- are protected by third-party rights and the user has no written permission
- resemble or are identical to a brand or trademark, no matter whether it has been registered or not
- resemble or are identical to a real person other than themselves
- are nonsense
- In addition to the above, any team name that are purely commercial (e.g. product names), defamatory, pejorative, offensive, vulgar, obscene, anti-semitic, inciting hatred, or offending against good manners are forbidden. Using alternative spelling, gibberish or wrong spelling in order to avoid the requirements mentioned above is strongly prohibited. We reserve the right to extend, change, exchange or delete these rules if necessary.
Names which are restricted by law will not be accepted and will be deleted and punished with Blackwall points if found. Also, names which go against all forms of etiquette and good manners will not be accepted.
If you use a non english name please contact the tournament management regarding it and provide a translation.
4.1 Price Money
Aim Cup will try to get the winner their prize, whatever that may be, as fast as possible. Complications may arise. We obligate ourselves to get you your price in a maximum of three months. All prize money amounts are in Dollar. ($)
5. Matches, Reschedules, Mappools
5.1 Reschedules
Rescheduling is only allowed when you match these criteria:
- The rescheduled time is not outside of the Aim Cup schedule
- Both Captains agreed clearly and distinctly on the rescheduled time
- The rescheduled time does not interfere with the losers bracket
- The posted reschedule was submitted before Friday 18:00 UTC
- A team cannot schedule two separate matches with the start times less than two hours apart
Exceptions can be approved by the tournament management, depending on the situation and stage of the tournament.
5.1.1 Reschedule requests
In case you request a Reschedule please follow the following criteria:
- A Reschedule request should already have a suggested time in the message itself.
- We expect every team to try to find a different date for their match if asked.
Reschedule requests are not allowed to be ignored, if you don't get an answer in 24 Hours contact the tournament management.
5.2 Matches
- All matches are scheduled in UTC
- Matches are being played on sv.1
- You are allowed to pick HD on DT (optional)
- All matches have to be played in 2vs2, a 2vs1 or a 1v1 is not allowed.
- Each Team/Player should give their best to make the match run as smoothly as possible
- Relax is enabled the entire game.
- During a FreeMod pick the following mods are allowed: [HR/HD/EZ/FL]
- Multiple mods (eg. HD & HR) are allowed in FreeMod.
- In a FreeMod pick, both teams need at least 2 Mods, HR Counts as 2 Mods ex: (2 Hidden or Hardrock + NoMod)
- During DT picks, the picking team cannot pick NC.
- TieBreaker is a FreeMod pick, however it does not force you to pick mods.
- You have 120 Seconds to ban/pick a map. If you fail to pick/ban in the given time you will skip your ban/pick.
- After picking a map, each team has 120 seconds to ready up, after the timer is runout you will gain blackwall points for each player that is not “ready up”. The timer can be extended with a timeout (each team has one 120 seconds timeout)
- Grace period is 10 Minutes, if you fail to show up with your lineup you gain blackwall points.
- There are 2 Bans Per team starting at Round of 32, Round of 64 only has 1 Ban per team.
- Banning/picking picks from the same category is allowed.
- Captains are responsible to invite their roster into the lobby.
5.2.1 Match Process
Captains will be invited 10 minutes before the match starts and will be pinged in Discord. If Captains haven't received an invite 10 Minutes before the match starts they should ask for a new invite. The Match begins after both teams joined the lobby, the Captains will be asked to do the !roll command. The winner of that roll will decide if they want to ban & pick first or second.
The pick & ban sequence will be:
- T1 Ban / T2 Ban / T1 Pick / T2 Pick / T1 Pick / T2 Pick / T1 Ban / T2 Ban / ...
After each pick & ban the referee will start a 2 minutes long timer.
5.2.2 Qualifier process

The Match begins after every team joined the lobby, or the grace period time ended.
The referee will select the qualifier maps in the following sequence: NM1, NM2, NM3, NM4, HD1, HD2, HR1, HR2, DT1, DT2, DT3
Every map will be played with Relax.
You have 120 seconds to change your roster and ready up for each map.
5.3 Mappool
Mappools are listed in the following sequence: NoMod, Hidden, Hardrock, DoubleTime, FreeMod, Tiebreaker
The mappool size for each stage is the following:
- Qualifier: 4 NM, 2HD, 2 HR, 3 DT
- Round of 64: 4 NM, 2HD, 2HR, 4 DT, 3FM, 1 TB
- Round of 32: 4 NM, 2HD, 2HR, 4 DT, 3FM, 1 TB
- Round of 16: 4 NM, 2HD, 2HR, 4 DT, 3FM, 1 TB
- Quarter-finals: 5 NM, 2HD, 2 HR, 5 DT, 4 FM, 1 TB
- Semi-finals: 5 NM, 2HD, 2 HR, 5 DT, 4 FM, 1 TB
- Final: 5 NM, 2HD, 2 HR, 5 DT, 5 FM, 1 TB
- Grand-final: 5 NM, 2HD, 2 HR, 5 DT, 5 FM, 1 TB
The best of for each stage is the following:
- Qualifier: One play through
- Round of 64: Best of 7
- Round of 32: Best of 9
- Round of 16: Best of 9
- Quarter-finals: Best of 11
- Semi-finals: Best of 11
- Final: Best of 13
- Grand-final: Best of 13
5.4 Bracket
Double-Elimination + Bracket Reset for the winning team.
5.5 Warmup
There's no Warmup.
6. Qualifier System
The qualifier system is there to form your seed and to determine the best 64/32 teams depending on the amount of Registrations.
6.1 System
Teams will be invited into a qualifier lobby of their choice, each team will play through the qualifier pool once. The total accuracy of each team will be combined and listed on a spreadsheet table.
Zip-Law will determine the seeding.
6.2 Cheating the System
Any attempts to cheat the System will result in disqualification and a permanent ban from any tournaments organised by us. All players are expected to give their best during the qualifier.
6.3 In case of...
In case your game crashes during the qualifier:
This depends how far you played, the referee will take the last word here. Make sure to close unnecessary programs and restart your osu! client before the Qualifier begins in order to avoid problems.
In case your score did not submit:
If you have proof (livestream or replay file) of your score, it will be accepted. If not it’s up to the referee to decide if the player is allowed to replay the map.
In case of internet problems:
The missing player is allowed to replay the map at the end of the qualifier lobby. In case the player didn’t fix their internet connection at the end of the qualifier lobby, the team is allowed to change the player for that pick.
7. Blackwall System
Black Wall is a point-based system that gives players penalty-points for the following points.
1 up to 6 points:
For breaking the Zero tolerance policy. – Applies to the player ONLY
2 points:
Rescheduling a Match after the “No later than Friday” deadline. – Applies to all team members
3 points:
Not Showing up. – Applies to all team members
Ignoring all communication from the opponent team to reschedule the match. – Applies to all team membersIf they collect 6 or more Points, the Player/Team will be kicked out of the tournament and will not be allowed to participate in the next Aim Cup Tournament and their prize money will be forfeited.
